Mieten sie eine Ferienwohnung am östlichen Ende der Gardenroute zwischen Tsitsikamma Nationalpark und Port Elizabeth. Die Ferienwohnung befindet sich in St. Francis Bay und ist direkt am Indischen Ozean gelegen.<br>
St. Francis Bay ist ein entzückender Ort mit zwei Gesichtern. Der ältere Teil (Village) mit seinen strohgedeckten und weiss getünchten Häusern erinnert an die Kolonialzeit. Der jüngere Teil mit seinen im mediterranen Stil erbauten Häusern (Santareme) und seinem kleinen Fischerhafen (Port St. Francis) erinnert an einen verträumten Ferienort am Mittelmeer. Eine äusserst strenge Bauordnung stellt sicher, dass der aussergewöhnliche Charme dieses Ortes erhalten bleibt und nicht zu einer zugepflasterten Uferpromenade wird.

Der Ort liegt teilweise an einem Sandstrand und teilweise an einer Steilküste. Beides für ausgedehnte Strandwanderungen geschaffen. Bei diesen Wanderungen beobachten sie entweder Vögel, Delphine und auch Wale (August/September), geniessen einfach das Meer oder schauen vom Strand aus den Fischern zu.

Direkt im Village Zentrum befindet sich ein 18-Loch Golfplatz sowie ein Tennisplatz.

Neben den Strandwanderungen gibt es auch Hikingmöglichkeiten, in und um St. Francis Bay. Harbourhike, Sandriverhike, Coastalhike (Cape St. Francis) zählen zu den beliebtesten. St. Francis Bay hat eine Infrastruktur, die auch den verwöhntesten Ansprüchen gerecht wird. Shoppingcenter, Boutiquen, Restaurants mit südafrikanischer (Fisch, Kalamaris), italienischer, griechischer, schweizer und internationaler Küche, Schönheitssalons, sowie ärztliche Versorgung (praktischer Arzt, Zahnarzt) zählen dazu.

St. Francis Bay eignet sich im besonderen Maße als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge, um das südlichste Afrika zu entdecken. Eine Anzahl von National- und Tierparks befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Allen voran Addo Nationalpark, Tsitsikamma Nationalpark und Monkeyland. Jeder dieser Parks kann in einem Tagesausflug besucht werden. Auch Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Metropole) mit seiner Waterfront, dem Ozeanum und seinen Restaurants ist einen Tagesausflug wert. Ebenfalls Plettenberg Bay, das Monte Carlo Südafrikas oder Knysna, das Zentrum für Austern-Liebhaber. In der direkten Umgebung von St. Francis Bay sind Cape St. Francis, Oesterbay (Oysterbay), sowie Jeffreysbay und Paradisbay lohnende Ausflugsziele. Auch eine Straussenfarm ladet zum Besuch und Kauf von Erzeugnissen aus Straussenleder in unmittelbarer Nähe von St. Francis Bay ein.

Etwas weiter (ca. 2,5 Stunden Fahrtzeit, jedoch Übernachtung empfohlen) erwarten die Big Fives in den privaten 'Gameparks' Shamwari und Kwandwe ihren Besuch. Mountain Zebra Nationalpark mit
Graaff Reinett am Rande der grossen Karoo, der Wilderness Nationalpark, zwischen Knysna und George gelegen, sind weitere lohnenswerte Ausflugsziele.

The Irma Booysen Nature Reserve, with its network of walking trails, boasts a variety of fynbos species. Worth visiting is also Oysterbay with one of the finest and uninhabited beaches in the whole area.
Jeffreysbay is a definitive must for keen surfers or seashell collectors and nature enthusiasts will enjoy Paradisbay. If you are interested in the Big Five Shamwari or Kwandwe; both private game parks,
can be reached in a two and a half-hour drive, but staying overnight there is recommended. Mountain Zebra National Park, Graff Reinett with the Deception Valley, and the Wilderness National Park offer you also very pleasant excursions.
